Issue #2 | January 5th, 2024Reading Time: Approximately 5 minutes Being > Action: Dialed-In Living for Authentic AlignmentHey Sweet Soul, it’s Shilpa! 🎉 Happy New Year, Sweet Soul! 🎉 As we step into 2025, let me ask you something: Have you ever felt like you’re chasing the next action without fully grounding yourself in the present? What if the key to achieving more isn’t just about doing more, but about being more intentionally focused and aligned? This realization came to me during my first meditation of the year. As I focused on my breath and the mantra 'I AM,' the phrase 'dialed-in' floated into my awareness, anchoring me to the intentions I want to set for this year. But this isn’t my first time reflecting on how to align my inner and outer worlds. In my first issue of Amplify Authentically, I explored the balance between Action > Manifestation. I shared how action is the bridge to manifesting our dreams. Now, I’m realizing that the next layer of my journey involves understanding how Being > Action. Manifestation requires a lot of inner work—a truth I know deeply as a mindfulness practitioner. But in my earnest effort to heal myself, I am facing the demons of emotions, habits, and patterns that have manifested in my body as a health issue. This has been a humbling reminder that healing isn’t just about doing; it’s about being present with what is. Dialing In, In ActionThe concept of choosing a word or phrase of the year has been floating around among many of my wellness coach friends. I always found it inspiring, but this year feels different. During my first morning meditation of 2025, as I kept returning to my breath and mantra 'I AM,' certain words began to surface: 'integration,''streamlining,''focus.' These aren’t new themes for me as a solopreneur, but this time, one phrase felt particularly resonant: 'dialed in.' This idea of being "dialed in" didn’t just feel spiritual; it felt holistic. Spiritually, it speaks to the level of focus I want to bring to my meditations and breathwork—being more intentional in how I center myself. Emotionally, it’s about showing up with presence, being fully attuned to the moment, and navigating the ebb and flow of my feelings with grace. Physically, being dialed in means paying closer attention to my fitness and nutrition—like tracking my macros and understanding how small, intentional steps impact my overall health and well-being. Interestingly, I recently read parts of Un-F Yourself by Gary John Bishop, and two questions stood out: 'What are you willing to do?' and 'What are you unwilling to do?' These questions struck a chord, echoing the balance between taking action and, sometimes, pausing to simply be present with what is. This idea of dialing in parallels my ongoing journey of learning when to push forward relentlessly and when to pause, breathe, and reflect. It’s about aligning action with intentional presence—a dance between doing and being that I’m committed to mastering this year. Dialing in isn’t just a mindset—it’s a holistic habit-building practice that touches every facet of my life. Building on the reflections I shared earlier, this process of being "dialed in" is about translating intentions into actions through small, consistent habits that support my BIG goals. It’s about starting simple and strategically stacking those habits to create lasting momentum. For example, in my personal life, I’ve committed to a minimum of 12 minutes of focused meditation each morning and evening, inspired by Dr. Amishi Jha’s research on neuroplasticity. Her work highlights how just 12 minutes of focused attention can create measurable shifts in the brain, enhancing focus, emotional regulation, and resilience. This daily practice anchors me spiritually and mentally, helping me stay aligned with my purpose. Physically, I’ve started integrating impactful wellness routines, like incorporating apple cider vinegar at the start of my day and with meals to help reduce sugar spikes. These small, intentional actions contribute to my larger goal of managing my health and fostering holistic well-being. In my business, this dialed-in approach extends to how I focus my time and energy. I’ve embraced the rule of one thing: one BIG idea, one audience, and one clear promise in my communication strategy. By streamlining in this way, I can ensure every action aligns with my core values and serves my audience authentically. This year, dialing in also means saying no to distractions and yes to clarity. It’s about reclaiming my time with tools like my purple Pro-Lending Planner and the Google Reclaim plug-in, which help me prioritize what truly matters. It’s about showing up for my health through mindfulness techniques, like daily meditation and breathwork, as well as tracking my physical fitness with the guidance of my holistic accountability coach. Dialing in is a balance of being present, taking purposeful action, and staying aligned—mind, body, and spirit. By focusing on simple, intentional habits tied to meaningful goals, I’m building a foundation for sustainable growth and holistic harmony. Story of the Month: From the Pages of My Solopreneur DiaryLet me share a moment of vulnerability that ties into my reflection on being “dialed in.” Late last year, I received some heavy news—I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. It was a wake-up call I didn’t see coming. As someone who has poured so much energy into building a business, often working relentless hours, I realized I had neglected one of the foundational pillars of my well-being: my health. This diagnosis triggered a whirlwind of emotions, including heightened anxiety, something I’ve already been navigating for years. Yet, amidst the fear and uncertainty, it also became a catalyst for change—a chance to dial in and reassess my priorities. From that moment, I took immediate action. I hired a holistic accountability coach to guide me on a fitness journey tailored to my needs, helping me integrate physical, emotional, and mental well-being into my daily life. I also began using a fitness app to track my macros, making intentional adjustments to support my health goals. But being dialed in isn’t just about physical health—it’s about nurturing all aspects of well-being. To further support this intentionality, I’ve integrated tools like the Google Reclaim plug-in to help me align my schedule with my priorities. These systems aren’t just about productivity—they’re about creating the mental and emotional space to focus on my health, my 'why,' and the people I serve. Dialing in is a balance of presence and purposeful action, and while the journey isn’t linear, it’s deeply meaningful. This season of my life is about showing up for myself, my family, and my business with clarity and authenticity—one intentional step at a time.
